Taking Stem Cells Too Far: A Warning From Canada Research Chair

Last month, Timothy Caulfield, Canada research chair in health law and policy at the University of Alberta, told the CBC in this article that the term “stem cell” is being dubiously used by marketers to sell products.
It follows an article by Kelly Crowe, which highlights in more detail what kind of therapy is available in Canada already, that the stem cell procedures offered for conditions such as Osteoarthritis and by specialists like Orthopaedic Surgeons, have no evidence, and in fact may cause more harm than good.
This very short video posted on the CBC website, gives a very short explanation of What Is A Stem Cell?

As Allevio Pain Management is uniquely positioned in the healthcare system and not only offers regenerative medicine procedures including but not limited to Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Prolotherpay, Allevio will be sharing information the ongoing dialog as it relates to regenerative medicine and Stem Cell work in Ontario, and around the world.
