The anesthesiologist will meet with the patient prior to the procedure to evaluate the patient’s
condition and review their medical history. The anesthesiologist will also explain the process so
the patient knows what to expect. During the procedure, the anesthesiologist will carefully
monitor the patient’s vital signs and comfort and will make the appropriate adjustments in
anesthesia. Following the procedure, the anesthesiologist will continue to monitor the patient’s
vitals and may be involved in management of pain.

Our team are entirely comprised of Anesthesia and Neurology-trained specialists, almost all of whom have fellowships in Pain Management from departments of Anesthesia from leading universities across North America and the UK, or who are academically affiliated with a similar program.
Our flagship clinic is located at 240 Duncan Mill Road, Main Floor (Suite 101), North York, Ontario, M3B 3S6. Several Allevio physicians also have privileges at hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area.
Allevio Pain Management is presently accepting applications for both a full time and a part time Anesthesiologist for light sedation.
These permanent positions are required at this time to meet the growing need for physicians in our community. The job duties of the Anesthesiologist will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Caring for a patient before, during and immediately following a medical procedure by administering appropriate anesthesia and monitoring the patient for reactions and complications, complete all necessary charts and forms for patient monitoring and discharge, and work with other specialists, and our patient care team to ensure comfort and manage pain in a professional manner.

During the procedure, the anesthesiologist will carefully monitor the patient’s vital signs and comfort and will make the appropriate adjustments in anesthesia. Following the procedure, the anesthesiologist will continue to monitor the patient’s vitals and may be involved in management of pain.
Job Duties:
- Administer anesthetics; closely monitor patients’ vital signs during surgery/procedure and adjust anesthetics accordingly; monitor patients through the first recovery stages after an operation or procedure; and administer appropriate medications during recovery.
- Evaluate clinical data on patient admission and as needed to assess the physical status of patients.
- Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, medical professionals and other sources.
- Conduct regular discussions with patients.
- Explain medication effects and side-effects upon admission with review of the Patient Medication Information (PMI) for each medication.
- Direct laboratory or diagnostic tests to provide information on the patient’s general physical and medical condition.
- Perform treatments ordered by other physicians.
- Participate and provide attention to all medical aspects with the Individual Plan of Service for each patient.
- Evaluate, approve and sign all Individual Plans of Service and perform scheduled reviews.
- Prescribe, follow-up and review all medications.
- Completing medical documentation and visit claims data in the clinic’s electronic medical record in a timely and professional fashion.
- Participate in staff development and in-service education programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to applicable regulations.
- Maintain the highest standard of professional ethics.
- Perform other assignments as requested. Requirements
- M.D. Degree; Board Eligible or Board Certified Physician.
Requirements:
- 2 or more years experience in a hospital or private clinic environment preferred.
- Candidates require a licence in good standing and must be able to acquire registration, licensing and applicable CMPA insurance to practice in Ontario.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Personable and positive bedside manner.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management team.
We offer a competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience, and may be eligible for bonuses based on the clinic’s performance. Additionally, the salary will be subject to the physician’s fee schedule as established by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Benefits include disability insurance, three weeks of vacation, and one week allotted for continuing education requirements.
